Welcome to Joy In the Music

Welcome to Joy In the Music! My name is Eve, and I have a passion for all things southern gospel. I live in Western North Carolina, where as someone once said, you can shake a tree and a quartet will fall out! My favorite type of southern gospel music is definitely quartet style, but I will be blogging about all different types of groups and singers. I've listened to southern gospel my whole life, and that's pretty much the only music I listened to growing up. I 'm also a fan of old country music, but southern gospel has always been my favorite. It's amazing how I could be having a bad day, but then I listen to a song like Brian Free and Assurance's "For God so Loved", or an old hymn like "The Old Rugged Cross", and I'm reminded of Jesus' love and the sacrifice he made for me and you, and it just turns my whole day around.

This blogs primary focus will be on southern gospel history, the future of southern gospel, reviews, and (hopefully!) some interviews. Of course, you can't have a good blog without readers, so I hope that y'all will enjoy this blog, and feel free to comment on posts and share this blog with your friends! My posting schedule for now will be about one post every two weeks, but hopefully I'll be able to post weekly in the future. On a serious note, all blog posts on this blog belong to me, and copying any part of a post without asking permission and citing my blog as the source will result in serious consequences.
